The Yellow Swing
The Swing project is about the media chaos that the Sewol ferry has caused. By dressing up as president Park and swinging back and forth shows how the president is playing. During the performance the performer was laughing and smiling the whole time she was on the swing. While the swing was going back and forth, the background was a black and white footage of the Sewol ferry protest. The sound was the dead students last voice calls with their loved ones and mixed it with a sound of the parents shouting and screaming during the protest. The black and white background, chaotic screams of people and a performer who is swinging in a yellow swing, is trying to portray South Korean politics visually and poetically.
